Paint Exterior: done for 2010

When Noah started teaching again this fall semester, Mindy worked on finishing exterior painting. All but the back side (East) is now finished! Hooray! Noah would set up the 30' extension ladder in the evening or morning before work and I, Mindy, painted all I could reach. The ladder is too heavy for me to move, so Noah was the muscles. It is nice to check it off the list, even though the back side will beckon us next summer. Now we need to hang more drywall, build kitchen cabinets, install more floors...well, the list goes on and on. But we signed on a regular mortgage in September so now we no longer have a deadline on a construction loan. Phew! So we are being parents a little more, living a little more, working a bit less...especially with Noah teaching again. And he often has to bring work home in the evenings. So we have hit the brakes pretty hard, so don't expect too many updates between now and next summer!

One of the things we implemented into our routine is chopping wood for 30 minutes a day. Noah does most of the splitting, but I give a valiant effort. Mostly I retrieve stacked logs and stack the split logs that the kids carry over to the stacking pile. Jonah and Tabitha help me during the week, while Abel & Phebe contribute also on the weekend. Getting ready for winter!
