Roof Reno Day 1

Our roof had some problems a few years ago. An unvented hot roof and not enough insulation was a recipe for moisture damage! We had carpenter ants, rotten roof rafters, and mold growth. We ripped out the insulation and drywall a few years ago to get it dried out. That took care of the moisture and carpenter ants, but we still have rotten wood rafters and roof decking. We are now beginning a roof renovation with a contractor (Matt & Joe Gurney of Coastal Maine General Contracting). Today they set up their staging. Work begins tomorrow. I will try to post pictures everyday (try should be capitalized with italics in bold font to emphasize -TRY- may not actually happen everyday).
