Working on Wood Floors

We worked on the wood floors for the dining room, kitchen, and pantry during Noah's spring break last week. To kick off the break, his family (parents, brother Levi, sister Linna) came for a short visit. They were able to help us get things started and in so doing, help us figure out the most efficient method of working. Of course six sets of hands really made things go quickly, with Linna helping me with board selection (rolling a die to randomly select the board width) and inspection, Bill cutting the boards to length, Levi helping Noah bang the boards in place, and Ginger supporting cut boards & cleaning up the mess. But once they were gone, it was back to Noah and I. So I learned how to use the miter saw to do the board selection and cutting so that Noah could continuously work on installation. It took us the whole week to do those 2 (well, 2.5) rooms and now we have been filling holes and waiting for this weekend to rent a sander before applying the polyurethane. The floors look fantastic and we can't wait for the end result.
